Sour Cream Apple Bars

These Sour Cream Apple Bars are filled with apples, a hint of cinnamon and have an amazing shortbread crust.

Ingredients Needed: flour brown sugar butter  cinnamon walnuts sour cream vanilla baking soda egg apple

Step 1: Mix flour, brown sugar, butter, walnuts and cinnamon until crumbly and then press 2 1/4 cups of mixture into cake pan.

Step 2: Combine sour cream, cinnamon, vanilla, baking soda, egg, and salt with the remaining flour mixture.  Mix on low just until it is combined, then stir in the apples.

Step 3: Pour the apple mixture on top of the pressed flour mixture in the prepared pan. Spread the apple mixture in an even layer with a spoon or spatula.

Step 4: Bake in 350° for 35-40 minutes.  Cool and then cut into squares.

Step 5: Top with dollops of whipped cream or serve with vanilla ice cream.
