Caramel Pecan Apple Spice Upside Down Cake

This caramel pecan apple spice upside down cake is the perfect combination of the best fall flavors. The perfectly spiced, moist cake is topped with pecans in a gooey caramel sauce and slices of sweet apples.

Ingredients Needed: brown sugar butter pecans buttermilk apples flour baking powder baking soda cinnamon cloves vanilla sugar

Step 1: Melt butter and brown sugar in cast iron skillet.  Add pecans and buttermilk.

Step 2: Lay apple slices on top of pecan mixture.

Step 3: Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt.

Step 4: Combine butter, sugar and vanilla.

Step 5: Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix.

Step 6: Pour batter on top of apples in skillet.

Step 7: Bake, cool slightly and invert on serving platter.  Enjoy!
