How it Started
I first started Hey, Snickerdoodle as a place to share all my favorite recipes. The ones I loved baking with my kids, bringing to family get-togethers, or making just because it sounded good that day.
While I still share plenty of sweet treats and cozy comfort foods, I'm also focused on creating recipes that work for real life and busy families. Think meals that can be prepped ahead, packed to go, or pulled together quickly before heading out the door. It's food that fits around busy family life, not the other way around.

A Little Backstory
I have always had a passion to share my recipes with others. For as long as I can remember, cooking, baking, and...well, eating, have been my favorite activities.
I love searching through magazines and cookbooks for new recipes to make. Like a total nerd, I have kept a very detailed log of what I have made over the last 20 years with notes about how I might change the recipe to make it better.
As my cooking knowledge and skills have improved, so has my ability to develop my own recipes and now I get to share them with people like you!
A Bit of Midwest in Everything

I grew up in Minnesota around a food-loving family that taught me the joy of cooking early on. Think casseroles, baking days, and big family dinners. The kind of meals that bring people together!
Later on, I became a teacher in Texas, which is probably where my love of practical, no-fuss meals really kicked in. Juggling lesson plans and dinnertime with little ones made me appreciate recipes that didn't add stress to an already packed day.
You'll see some Midwest influence in the way I cook. Simple, comforting, and never too fussy. I'm all about recipes that feel familiar and satisfying, whether it's a cozy pasta bake or a quick dinner that gets the job done without a lot of dishes.
